Who Are We?
FoLLNR consists of permit holders* who wish to protect the wildlife and environment of the nature reserve. Currently we have around 400 members, comprising of bird and wildlife watchers, photographers and others who simply enjoy nature and the unique environment we have here at the reserve.
The Friends Group carry out regular practical conservation tasks as agreed and co-ordinated with the Parks Trust and organise events and regular open days.
As a permit holder you are always welcome to join the Friends Group and attend our open days and events even if you cannot partake in the conservation tasks.

Want to Get Involved?
New volunteers are always
welcome - a strong Friends Group means we can complete more tasks and projects and
promote the interests of permit holders in the way that the site is maintained
and managed.
Do I need Any Special
Skills?
No. You only need a
willingness to get involved, and to help with those jobs that are within your
capabilities. Working parties have a team leader to ensure safe working
practice is followed. You only need volunteer for tasks you feel comfortable
with; there are lots of different ways in which you can get involved, including helping at events and open days and other less physical
projects.
What’s
In It for Me?
- Meeting kindred spirits and enjoying sharing knowledge and information.
- Enjoy taking an active part in the maintenance and protection of the site.
- The opportunity to put forward ideas for ways to enhance the reserve.
- Help preserve the reserve as a safe environment for the diversity of wildlife we currently enjoy.
