More hands make light work.....

Hello....

Can you join us on Work Parties or Open Sundays?
Are you able to give us a few hours of your time
on the first or third Sunday of any month?

You're reading this because you have an interest in Nature and, no doubt, in the many ways that we as human beings can help wildlife survive and thrive.

If you've visited the Reserve on Open Sundays you'll know that we're a dedicated group of people who run the Cafe, sell books and crafts, chat to newcomers and answer questions. We also organise events for permit holders and guests.
It's our way of helping wildlife.

If you've spent time on the Reserve on first Sundays, you'll have noticed a group of people clearing, cleaning, cutting, chopping back undergrowth and overgrowth, painting, building or replacing things.
It's our way of helping wildlife.

The FoLLNR Committee and Volunteers
need more hands
to make this very rewarding work-load lighter.

Please consider coming to join us.

Our next Open Sunday is Sunday, 20th November.
(December's Open Sunday is the second Sunday, 11th December - all the usual, with Christmas crafts to make, too.)
Let us know what help you can offer.

On behalf of your very hard-working Committee and Volunteer group, thanks so much!

New date for Moth morning at LLNR...

Apologies to anyone who turned up this weekend expecting to find a Mothing event.
Hopefully you enjoyed your visit in spite of the lack of moths!

The new date will be the early morning of our next Open Sunday.

Moth Morning
Sunday 18th September - 07.30 am

Gordon will be checking the trap, counting numbers and species,
talking moth-talk and answering questions - have yours ready!

Refreshments will be available so that you can quench your early morning thirst and indulge in the usual goodies to sustain you for a spot of nature-watching...

Sunday 18th September is also Open Sunday. Why not stay on and see what's about on the Reserve, and then come in to the Centre for that second cuppa? There'll be the usual opportunities to browse through the crafts and second-hand books, chat to fellow-enthusiasts, and hear about the latest developments......

We look forward to seeing you!

'Bees For Dinner? The importance of pollinators in a changing world.'

This Wednesday, 13th April,  the Friends will be playing host to Professor Jeff Ollerton, who is coming to talk about his work and thoughts on pollinators in our changing world.
Come and enjoy a stroll on the Reserve before the doors open. Spring migration is well underway, and the dusk chorus will be a great start to an interesting evening. Hot drinks are included in the entrance  fee, and other refreshments will also be available.
(There'll be a raffle, too, so bring a little extra small change with you!)

Looking forward to seeing you.....
